K Cups users have been waiting patiently for cheaper k cup clones to flood the market when Green Mountain Coffee’s K Cups patents expire in September.
Well if you dig deeper into the patents issue, these clones won’t be worth the wait. It turns out that the two expiring k cup patents are for their old technology which the company abandoned long ago. It just didn’t make good coffee.
So competitors waiting to jump into the market should beware that they won’t be able to produce high quality K Cups and consumers may at first buy them, but they won’t settle for lower quality in the long run.
